In the first episode, Akevot Institute researcher Adam Raz sits down with Adv. Dov Weissglass for a candid conversation that offers a look behind the scenes of the Israeli Palestinian peace process from the perspective of one of the most senior figures around the negotiating table.
Weissglass, a close advisor to Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and one of the drafters of the disengagement plan, talks about the logic behind the plan, which he says was not intended to thwart the establishment of a Palestinian state. Weissglass says that although Israel made the decision to withdraw from Gaza unilaterally, it was implemented in full cooperation with the Palestinians.
