Three Palestinian villages located in the Latrun area were emptied of their 8,000 inhabitants after their occupation by Israel during the Six Day War. Following the occupation, the residents of Imwas, Bayt Nuba and Yalu were expelled, and their villages were immediately razed to the ground. In the neighboring Kibbutz Nachshon, lively debates were held regarding the fate of the residents of the Palestinian villages and their property. In the 7 July 1967 edition of the Kibbutz newspaper, two pages were glued together to prevent anyone from reading them. One copy survived the censorship, due to the ingenuity of the Kibbutz archivist.
