A docu-drama event performed in July 2023 at Tel Aviv’s Tmuna Theater tells the story of the military’s Plan Mole and its role in background for the 1956 Kafr Qassim Massacre. It seems that on no other chapter in the history of the conflict do Jewish and Palestinian narratives diverge so profoundly as they do on the Kafr Qasim Massacre. According to the Jewish account, the soldiers and police officers were bad apples who obeyed an illegal order and murdered people returning home at the end of the work day. For Palestinians, the massacre was an attempt at displacement. A Mole at Tmuna is based on hundreds of pages of transcripts from the Kafr Qasim Massacre trial recently declassified following a long legal campaign by Akevot.
